Karate classes for Families
Generally, we find it better to teach adults and younger children separately, which is why we have separate classes specifically for cadet students.
That said, we know that sometimes the only way parents can participate in Karate (due to childcare issues) is alongside their children. For that reason, we do allow mature children to participate alongside their parents in our "family classes". Please note that we do not recommend this approach for very young children (as they generally need a different style of teaching), but typically it would be fine for children from about the age of 11 years and over.
The plus side of parents training alongside their children is that it gives a common interest and activity to share together, and you can encourage each other to practice and attend classes on days when you might be lacking in energy!
If you are interested in attending our Karate classes as a family, please get in touch... we'd be happy to discuss this with you.

When families attend our "family classes", there are opportunities for parents to train with their children (assuming you want to, of course!). There are also lots of opportunities for parents to have some "me time" and train with the other adult students, and for children to make friends while training with the other cadet students.
FREE TRIAL OF Family karate CLASSES
We offer a FREE trial class for all "new to us" students. The trial is your family's opportunity to see how friendly we all are, the wide variety of things that we do, and how much you'll enjoy our classes.
There's no need for any special uniform to be worn during the trial period (in fact, we strongly suggest you wait until the end of your free trial class before considering purchasing one). Instead, you can all just wear something loose and casual such as a t-shirt and shorts/leggings/tracksuit trousers. We train bare-footed, so please ensure your toenails (and finger nails) are trimmed prior to class so as not to cause injury during training.
We do require a short form (one per person) to be completed before you can participate in our classes... we can either send you one in advance by email/post, or you can collect one and fill it out when you come for your first class (be sure to arrive 15 minutes early if you plan to fill the form out "on the day", however).

Please note that all monthly membership fees must be paid in advance at the beginning of each month, by direct debit. We do not accept payments by cash/cheque for monthly membership fees, due to the additional banking fees and administration fees we would incur. The monthly membership fees are also based upon continuous payment, irrespective of any periods of non-attendance. Of course, if ever you / your child ever wished to cease attending our classes, you can ask us to cancel your direct debit at any time.
As a very established Karate group (we have been teaching in Cornwall for over 19 years!), we already have 80+ existing students paying for their classes by direct debit; join them with confidence!
